John B. Hong

John Hong Assistant Manager Le Vive JewelryMy passion for jewelry started in 1997, when my family opened our first jewelry store in San Bernardino, California named Waterman Gold and Platinum. The idea of being around diamonds, gemstones, gold, and silver excited me a lot as a teenager then; and it still does as an adult now. The warmth that I received when I was helping a couple or family in choosing that engagement ring or the birthday gift for their loved one; was very rewarding. I knew then, that being in the jewelry business is what I wanted to do with my life; it is where I will be able to give joy and happiness to those who appreciate the finer things in life.  After graduating from Canyon Springs High School in 2001, I enlisted in The United States Marine Corps. I spent the next four years of my life as an Infantry Rifleman with 3 rd Battalion 7th Marines India Company. During my time in the Marine Corps, I had the privilege of going overseas for two tours to fight the war on terrorism in Iraq. That was my most rewarding experience of my life.

Upon leaving the Marine Corps in 2005, I went back to work as a salesman at my family jewelry business. In 2006, we opened our second jewelry store in the city of Riverside, named WGP Riverside. I got more interested in the industry; and in 2010, I attended the best school for jewelry making, the Gemological Institute of America; where I graduated as a Certified Graduate Jeweler. While working full time; I started school in 2014 and graduated from the University of Phoenix majoring in Business Management.

Riverside Le Vive Jewelry John HongWorking with my family has been an honor, and I would not have changed a thing, because I gained a lot of knowledge and experience about this industry through them. But working within a family business can only teach you so much. That’s why I joined the family of Le Vive.  Jewelry, Riverside. I heard so many good things about this store; so I am happy to be working and gaining more knowledge and experience with Mohammad and Jim.

The one thing that keeps me focused and at peace is my interest in jewelry. I strive to give my clients exactly what they want, at a price they can appreciate, and with guaranteed full satisfaction.
